It's Almost Time

Fifty-eight days.  That's expected pregnancy length for a Labrador like Poppy.  Sure enough, today is day fifty-seven and I think she is getting close.  She doing fantastic, rests comfortably, and has continued doing our normal walks which are fairly long up and down the trails.  She is definitely slower, but she is also carrying a large load of puppies.  Over the last couple days she has started burrowing... the dog version of nesting, and we have lots of big holes all over to show for it.  In general she is in great spirits, excellent health, and her only persistent complaint is that we don't give her ALL the food.  Here are some photos, starting with the most recent shots from today.

A little tired at the end of the walk after climbing the last hill:

This might be the last day where we are a 3-dog family.  The number is going up very soon!

She is still enjoying her dust rolls:

And lots of naps:

The vet counted 7 puppies in her x-ray:

With only a week to go, from some angles you could barely tell she is pregnant:

And from other angles, it's very clear:

She definitely enjoys her sunset dips:

Her form has been amazingly good throughout her pregnancy:

She definitely takes a few more breaks on our walks than last month:

I think her mama Piper knows something is going on with Poppy:

And of course, lots of naps are in order:
